The APP scams reimbursement requirement comes into force on 07 October 2024 and firms are already making progress to implement this.

We are keen to support this work and to collaborate with industry to ensure consistent understanding of the policy as well as preparedness and effective, timely implementation of the requirement.

We recognise the value of setting up industry engagement sessions in the lead up to implementation and we will hold them from the end of March on a fortnightly basis.

We will discuss different areas of the policy including scope, PSPs’ obligations, the division of liability, consumer standard of caution, vulnerability, complex claims and others.

Our engagement will run alongside the workshops Pay.UK are leading with firms on operational readiness, and the development of the single system Pay.UK is procuring to support firms in managing reimbursement.

Many thanks to those that joined us for our earlier industry engagement sessions. We hope you found the conversations helpful.

We will host the next session on Tuesday 14 May 14:30 to 16:00. This session will be online on MS Teams only.

The agenda will include a follow up on CHAPS, the consumer standard of caution and consumer communications.

If you have any questions regarding the session please email us at appscams@psr.org.uk
