PSR appoints Genevieve Marjoribanks as new Head of Policy

As Head of Policy, Genevieve will be responsible for leading the development of regulatory policy. She’ll work with industry, consumer groups and the PSR’s various stakeholders to develop and implement policies that will effectively deliver the PSR’s objectives.

Genevieve joins the PSR from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) where she was a Head of Policy in Strategy & Competition.  In 2019 Genevieve was temporarily seconded to the CMA to help develop their policy approach and to lead their Digital Markets Strategy work.

Genevieve is experienced in financial policy and regulation having joined the FCA in 2012 with roles including Senior Manager of Financial Stability and Prudential Policy before leading a department in its Policy division. Prior to this she practised law in Australia, before working for Australia’s Commonwealth Treasury, including time spent in Parliament House, and as a strategic policy lead at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

“I’m delighted to be taking on this role with the PSR. The UK’s payments industry is constantly evolving and there are significant pieces of work that the PSR is involved in and leading on - not least developing the UK’s new payments architecture and considering issues around access to cash. I’m looking forward to joining the PSR at such an exciting time.”

“I’m very pleased that Genevieve is joining the PSR. She brings considerable experience and insight from a wide range of regulatory roles. This will prove invaluable as the UK’s payment systems continue to evolve.”
