The Forum is an opportunity for the payments industry and representatives of those that use payment systems to work together in partnership to drive collaborative innovation in payment systems for the benefit of users.
It will lead an ongoing process to identify, prioritise and develop initiatives where industry can work together to promote innovation for the benefit of those who use payment systems. The Forum agreed that all such initiatives must be:
- Secure and resilient
- Versatile and responsive to user needs
- Efficient
The Forum has also identified a number of strategy setting objectives and principles as seen below. This gives the Forum and its Working Groups a clear target for prioritising their work, ensuring that solutions in the final strategy are those addressing the detriments identified by the Community and delivering the greatest net benefit to users.
