The PSR is consulting on giving a specific direction requiring around 400 payment service providers (PSP) to offer Confirmation of Payee (CoP), benefitting millions of customers across the UK. Our consultation can be viewed here.
We are holding three virtual roundtables and would like to understand the views of all those with an interest in this issue, including:
- PSPs (particularly those we propose to direct)
- Consumer groups and charities involved with fraud prevention and providing support to victims of fraud
- Businesses involved in the transaction process and those who may offer CoP facilities to PSPs.
We welcome the views from the above interested parties to gain an understanding of our proposals, lessons that can be drawn from existing CoP implementation and future challenges. We would encourage all those who would be impacted by our proposals to attend.
The sessions will take place on:
- Monday 27 June from 10.00 to 11.00 for Payment Service Providers
- Tuesday 28 June from 16.00 to 17.00 for consumer groups and charities involved with fraud prevention and providing support to victims of fraud
- Monday 4 July from 11.00 to 12.00 for businesses involved in the transaction process and those who may offer CoP facilities to PSPs
